Traditional shopping for the 21st Century!

Running just off the busy A625, Sharrow Vale Road is one of the country's most exciting shopping streets, with over 50 independant shops, all run by their enthusiastic owners!

Unlike many of today's high streets, it is possible to do your weekly food shop here, as we have two butchers, an organic greengrocer, an artisan baker, a fishmonger, a deli, handmade pasta and the institution that is 'Down to Earth' which was green before the term was invented!

For the ladies we have fashion, accessories,  beauty salons, a tanning salon and  hairdressers - and a traditional barber for the men.

If you are shopping for your home, we have  kitchens, upholstery fabrics, antiques, a picture framer and our wonderful hardware shop - complete with George the cat on the counter.

When you want to treat yourself (or someone else),  we have flowers, gifts, cards, a second hand book shop and galleries.

On a practical note we have an optician, dentist and  we are still in possession of a bank and a Post Office.

When all this becomes a little tiring, there are plenty of cafes, where  you can sit and gossip or people watch.

In the evening the street is still buzzing.  We have a good selection of restaurants including French, Greek, Moroccan, Indian, Italian and Mediterranean, and if you're not feeling so affluent we have a take away and a chip shop!  The Lescar Hotel has comedy and jazz nights, while the Porter Cottage is a traditional pub.

And as Sheffield is the home of World Snooker, we also have our own snooker club.

We must not forget to mention our wonderful  neighbours, the
Sharrow Vale Community Association, who keep us litter and graffiti free, provide us with seats and planters, keep an eye on all local matters and also arrange the Sharrow Vale Market three times as year.

There is always something happening on Sharrow Vale Road, so check out our What's On page.

So why not come down to see us?  We would love to see you!..
